Daily Bible Verse May 23, 2026 – Meaning, Prayer & Life Application
Scripture: Matthew 21:42 (KJV) “Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?”
Meaning of the Verse
In this verse, Jesus reveals a powerful spiritual truth using the example of a rejected stone becoming the chief cornerstone. He was speaking about Himself — though rejected by many, He became the foundation of salvation and God’s kingdom.
This passage reminds us that rejection does not determine destiny. People may overlook, underestimate, or reject you, but God can still lift you into a place of honor, purpose, and greatness. What matters most is God’s plan for your life, not human opinion.
The verse also shows that God specializes in turning impossible situations into testimonies that leave people amazed. What looks rejected today can become chosen and celebrated tomorrow by the hand of God.
Life Application
Do not allow disappointment or rejection to define your future. Sometimes God permits seasons where people misunderstand or ignore you, but He is preparing you for something greater.
Stay faithful, humble, and committed to God even when others fail to recognize your value. The same God who lifted Jesus above rejection can also establish you in your calling and purpose.
Today, trust God’s process. Your story is still unfolding, and God can transform every setback into a testimony for His glory.
Prayer for Today
Heavenly Father, thank You because You are the God who lifts the rejected and gives honor to the humble. Help me not to be discouraged by rejection, criticism, or delay. Strengthen my heart to trust Your purpose for my life. Let every disappointment turn into divine promotion and testimony. Establish me according to Your will and make my life a reflection of Your glory. In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.
